Pink (Science Appliance) is an 1024-node LinuxBIOS/BProc cluster with dual 2.4 GHz P4s connected by Myrirnet 2000 in the Evolocity chassis (effective .8U per node). The vendor is Linux Networx.

Pink accepted!

Acceptance period begins.

Pink delivered to LANL.

12/22/2002:

Pink passes off-site acceptance test by running gm_stress for 24 hours!

12/14/2002:

The Cluster team has a holiday party with a special guest.

12/10/2002: Visit to Center 7 in SLC

Pink is being built and tested outside of Salt Lake City at a facility called Center 7. Ron, Erik, and Greg went to visit the site and assist in the bring-up.

Pink requires special floor tiles to provide proper cooling. The tiles (below) are designed to pass through 50% of the airflow.

The backs of the racks are pretty slick. The orange fiber cables are for the Myrinet, and the green and grey go to the ICE box, Linux Networx management box.
