We had a New Mexican-ish dinner followed by an amazing dessert torte made by Greg.

The highlight of the evening was the gift exchange. We had 7 actual participants (Ron, Amanda, Greg, Libby, Matt, Sung, and Erik) and 2 virtual participants (Maya and Josh). The rules allowed each person to either open a wrapped gift, or steal an open gift from someone else (each gift could only be stolen 3 times).

The most fought after gift was the lava lamp (though as is clear from this picture that Zoe was more interested in what was behind the lava lamp).

The most unusal gift was the Egg Cuber -- it turns any ordinary egg into a "square egg." Ouch!

And Amanda got stuck with the most practical gift: pocket CD-Rs. Doesn't she looked excited!

Josh, who was with us on IRC all night, ended up with a Motivational calender/mouse pad. No one dared steal that from him!

All in all, everyone was pleased, or in the very least amused, with their gifts.
