LinuxBIOS is a Free Software project, aimed at replacing the Basic Input Output System on your mainboard.

You can find LinuxBIOS in many of today's computers. It's main purpose is to speed up the boot-process in servers, computing-clusters with many nodes and in small internet appliances, which can be produced in high quantities with no need to pay license fees for the BIOS.
