Is there something wrong with the near jump approach?

I will attempt to pull freebios2 from cvs.  Sourceforge CVS seems not
to work most of the time I try to use it.  It would be nice to have CVS
hosted somewhere reliable, maybe BerliOS.

Is freebios2 booting yet on any platforms?
