There should be nothing worth stripping by the time the etherboot
build gets that far, at least for 5.1.x.  It is desirable to
keep the notes we have placed there.

Beyond that it looks like by trying to strip etherboot you have
hit one of the many binutils bugs that crop up from time to time.
