You can enable debug in filo. Also add some printf in ide_disk.c

What did you want me to double check about my IDE exactly?  I haven't 
changed any of the defaults in LinuxBIOS with the exception of the 
CONFIG_CONSOLE_SERIAL8250 and the loglevels.
