[LinuxBIOS] RE: ECC, A function of Hard ware or BIOS

I have a 1GB sticks of HP SDRAM PC133 SDRAM ECC. The system is a Netgear
ND520 Network Disk Drive. The BIOS does not support ECC. How would I find
out if the memory controller supports ECC? All my googling says no.

I found the ND520 at a garage sale for $20. Currently it only supports up
to 128MB ram and nothing bigger then a 36GB hard drive (IDE); and the real
fun part... No console connection any wear that I can find. Netgear stopped
supporting these a few years ago. I was able to quickly rebuild the system
running Gentoo Linux, I now moves VERY fast, for what it is.

Do we have support for Linux BIOS on this chip set VT82C585VP?

Here is the information I get from lspci -vv
