Which board exactly? The GIGABYTE GA-6BXC is currently supported.

Probably not, or it's risky at least. The chips being non-socketed is
always a problem because you cannot revert back to the original BIOS
(unless you have some soldering skills).

I'm relatively sure the dual-bios solution will not work in this case, as
it's software-controlled (but other may have more information).
