I would like to request a better patch management system than this
mailing list. The fact the above "ping" is now a part of our
development process is a very strong indication that things are not
functioning very well.

It's easy to say "use a tracker" but that is not practical for some
developers because it is centralized, and that doesn't work when you
are not always online.

One idea is tracker email integration, but that isn't ideal either.

Another is to have a patch repository based on a distributed VCS.

How do other projects solve this problem? Experiences anyone?
