I'd say Qi is similar to coreboot+FILO without all the extra features
something like U-Boot would provide. The Qi goal was to be fast, simple
and lightweight and load Linux.
Given that coreboot is pretty PCI centric (and has no ARM port),
coreboot was not the best possible patch for OpenMoko.
