I wonder why you get an lzma decoding error.  Have you tried not compressing
the payload (Kconfig setting)?

Does your version of qemu write protect the BIOS area so that SeaBIOS can't
live there?  It seems like I had that problem once.

That's odd.  After a decoding error I'm surprised we try to continue.
