Patrick Georgi (patrick at georgi-clan.de) just uploaded a new patch set to gerrit, which you can find at http://review.coreboot.org/1472

-gerrit

commit f68d1a47411fe01213d7e1c14b77e4c8cfcb48a3
Author: Kyösti Mälkki <kyosti.malkki at gmail.com>
Date: Sun Oct 7 15:08:32 2012 +0200

    Every chip must have chip_operations

Forcing this rule, chip_ops can be added in the static devicetree
regardless of the existence of the chip.h files.
