getting started

All,

I would like to get my feet wet and build a cheap 3 node cluster to play
with linux bios, beowulf, etc.

Soo, if you were starting from scratch and wanted the motherboard that... 

- is cheap
- has good linux bios documentation
- has a good success rate

...which would you choose?
