Remove the -Werror and it should be ok.  Those are probally going to
be a buch of issues related to (char *) and (unsigned char *) which
gcc issues warnings about now.

That however maybe a problem.  Dunno if the V1 version is 64 bit
clean.  Of course it dosen't sound like you can do any worse.
