Which version? svn?

not me.

Is this with a clean checkout? If so, your gcc is broken as it points
to the wrong libgcc.

What does the following command tell you?

$ gcc -m32  -print-libgcc-file-name

on my system it says:
/usr/lib64/gcc/x86_64-suse-linux/4.1.2/32/libgcc.a
                                      ^^^^
Try updating your gcc.
