I think it is inevitable. I think that the best boot loader is Linux.
We already showed how to do it on OLPC, but the size of the boot rom
(1 Mbyte) was too small. I think that 2 MBytes works however.

So that's my feeling. I am glad you asked this question, and I think
what you are saying is very sensible.
