I agree with Peter here. Since the util/ tree is in our v2 repository, 
any non-flashrom related patches would increase the svn revision count, 
too. So there might be new versions without any changes to flashrom. 
Making a new release every so many months might be an idea though. We 
can also create milestones in tracker.coreboot.org and attach 
bugs/features to these. whenever all tickets are closed, we make a new 
release. How does that sound?
