where are the first 4 bits located? Right or Left?

It seems you like the first read

but in that case only the first 16K are enabled
for 0xb0000000

= c0000 - c3fff

I'm not sure, but the debug output is not much fast. If I remember right 
for this test I haven't seen other characters as FF

and so the other read is right
